WHAT: From Saturday, May 1, through Wednesday, May 5, seven members of the Trident submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737) (Blue) will be visiting their “namesake” commonwealth to strengthen ties with the community. During their stay, they will be available for interviews and speaking engagements upon request and scheduling.

WHO: Crew members visiting the city include: Cdr. Eduardo R. Fernandez, Commanding Officer Lt.j.g. Richard L. Sanford, Assistant Engineering Officer Lt.j.g. Hunter M. Barns, Electrical Assistant Officer Senior Chief Culinary Specialist (SS) Thomas A. Daly, Supply Department Senior Enlisted Advisor Chief Sonar Technician (Submarines) (SS) Jonathan E. Calloway, Maintenance Material Management Coordinator Electronics Technician 1st Class (SS) Brian P. Harper Machinist Mate 2nd Class (SS) Ricky R. Garcia, Blue Jacket Sailor of the Year

WHERE: The Greater Louisville-area, Lexington and Ashland/Worthington. Anticipated activities during the namesake visit include: May 1st, Governor’s Breakfast, Kentucky Derby.

May 3rd, University of Louisville site visit as well as Jeffersontown Fire Department Jeffersontown High School, and Spencer County High School. Closing the day with dinner in the company of Louisville Base, United States Submarine Veterans.

May 4th, Visit to Central High School, Shawnee High School, and Hillerich & Bradsby. Evening at Lexington Legends baseball game at Applebee’s Park Stadium in Lexington.

May 5th, Visit to Valley High School, Iroquois High School, and Worthington Elementary School (Worthington, KY).
